Vidyut is generally shy about his personal life. He finally revealed to be dating TV actress Mona Singh for a long time, even before entering movies.

Family

Vidyut was born in Jammu to an Army-man father and mother Vidya Jamwal. He has 2 siblings.

Career

Vidyut started his career by performing live action shows in various countries. He has worked as a model since 1996. After a long struggle, he found his film break with the 2011 action film Force. His impressive stunts and dynamics with protagonist John Abraham earned him praise. In the same year, he appeared in two Telugu films, Shakti and Oosaravelli.

In 2012, he starred in Tamil film Billa II, which earned him critical appreciation. He also played the antagonist in Thupakki, which was a huge success. In 2013, Vidyut received his first role as a solo protagonist in Commando. The film, despite receiving mixed reviews, did well on the box office. He also appeared in a small role in Bullet Raja. In 2017, he starred in the sequel Commando 2 and in the multi-starrer Baadshaho; both movies were successful at the box office. In 2019, he is set to appear in 3 movies, including Commando 3. Vidyut has also appeared in music videos like Gal Ban Gayi opposite Urvashi Rautela. 

Favourites

Despite being a fitness freak, Vidyut loves eating street foods like bhel puri and paani puri. Enter The Dragon is one of his favourite movies. He loves visiting Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.

Awards

For his debut film Force, Vidyut won best debut awards from FICCI Frames, Filmfare and IIFA. He also won a Stardust Breakthrough Performance award for the same. For his role as a sleeper cell leader in Thupakki, he won the SIIMA Best Actor in a Negative Role award. He also won a Zee Cine award for Commando.
Apart from acting, Vidyut won numerous titles like PETA's Hottest Vegetarian in 2014. Since 2011, he is consistently counted among the fittest and sexiest men in India.

Trivia

Vidyut is called "Singu" by friends and family. He started training in Kalaripayattu since the age of 3 and holds a formal degree in martial arts. Vidyut has visited the Shaolin Temple in China and spent a week there while receiving further training.
