Mandira Bedi stepped into the media industry with the first-ever daily Indian soap opera Shanti in 1994. She rose to the height of fame with her successful performance in her debut serial, aired on DD National. Later the serial was aired on STAR Plus. She pursued her career with various drama serials including Aurat (1998), Dushman (2001), CID (2001), Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2001 – 2003), Sarabhai vs Sarabhai (2004 – 2006), Fame Gurukul (2005), CID: Special Bureau (2005), Deal Ya No Deal (2005 – 2008), Fear Factor India (2006), Funjabbi Chak De (2007 – 2008), Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star (2008), Ek Se Badhkar Ek (2008), Indian Idol Junior (2013), 24 (2013), Gangs of Haseepur (2014), I Can Do That (2015), India’s Deadliest Roads (2016), and MTV Troll Police (2018). Her drama serials include a list of the most successful and loved serials of all time, including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and CID.  She made her movie debut with a superhit Hindi movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995. Later she starred in Badal (2000), Manmadhan (2004), Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004), Naam Gum Jaayega (2005), Bali (2005), Divorce (2005), Matrimony (2007), Meerabai (2008), 42kms (2009), O Teri (2014), Ittefaq (2017), and Vodka Diaries (2017). She also worked in Tamil movie Adangathey (2017), a Malayalam movie Ezham Mudra, and Telugu/Tamil movie Saaho (2018). Mandira also starred in a Hindi web series Smoke in 2018.

Controversies

Mandira came across a controversy when she wore a saree full of flags in 2007 ICC World Cup Final played between Australia and Sri Lanka. The appearance of Indian flag near her below her knee made people gossip and was a big controversy which made her apologize.
