Family

Jhanvi Kapoor is the daughter of famed Bollywood actress Late Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor. Unfortunately, her mother, Sridevi died of a cardiac attack in 2018 and could not see the success of her daughter. Jhanvi has 3 siblings, Arjun Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Anshula Kapoor. Khushi Kapoor is her real sibling, while the other two are her half-siblings.

Career

Jhanvi Kapoor was interested in acting since her childhood days, and with the constant interest, she entered Bollywood with her debut movie ‘Dhadak’. Dhadak was released in July 2018, in which she was starred with Ishaan Khatter, who is the brother of actor Shahid Kapoor. This Hindi movie is a remake of ‘Sairat’, a Marathi film. A huge number of movie promotions had been organized, but it could not prove to be as successful as the movie makers would have liked.

Controversies

Jhanvi Kapoor was caught in a controversy in 2016 when a couple of her pictures with her boyfriend Akshat Rajan were leaked out on the social media. These pictures were taken in a nightclub party where both were enjoying one another’s company. One of these intimate pictures showed both having a lip-lock.

Awards

Being a new face in the industry, Jhanvi hasn’t worked in projects other than her debut movie ‘Dhadak’, which was not very successful. But it made her win the Best Debut Award at the Vogue Awards 2018.

Jhanvi’s name was inspired by the character ‘Jhanvi’ played by Urmila Matondkar in the movie ‘Judai’. Sridevi was pregnant during the shoot of this movie and had a great bond with Urmila at that time.
