Born on 21 December 1963 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Govinda Ahuja 54 years old (as of 2018). The talented actor stands at a height of 5 feet 8 inches.

Marriage/ Relationship

Govinda got married to Sunita Ahuja on 11 March 1987 and their marriage remained a secret for four long years. Being the star of Bollywood that Govinda was in the 90s, he is rumoured to have been in a relationship with many of the leading actresses. 

Govinda was said to be in relationships Neelam and Rani Mukherjee. Rumours have it that Govinda was in a living relationship with the Bengali beauty Rani Mukherjee. However, Govinda’s mother intervened and he came back to his wife.

Family

Govinda is now happily married to Sunita Ahuja and they have two beautiful children, one daughter, Tina Ahuja and a son, Yashvardan Ahuja. 

Govinda’s father was Arun Kumar Ahuja and mother was Nirmala Devi. Govinda loved his mother deeply and listened to everything she told him.

Career

Govinda was launched by his uncle Anand in the film Tan- Badan. The film wasn’t that great a success but the two successive films that followed were an absolute hit. These two films, Love 86 and Ilzaam helped him get a grip on the industry.

He continued working in many different genres of Bollywood movies and each of them brought him closer to achieving the stardom. However, his collaboration with director David Dhawan in the year 1989 for the movie Taaqatwar was the turning point in his career. After this movie, he never had to look back. He delivered centuries of hit movies and became the star of the 90s. He worked with Dhawan in a total of seventeen movies, most of them being a hit.

Controversies

Govinda has got himself in many controversies with his words and actions. However, he topped all the controversies with the slap controversy. It so happened that Govinda slapped a struggling actor, called Santosh Rai, in 2008 on the sets of the movie Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. This act of cruelty was captured on camera and he got sued for the act.

Awards

Govinda has bagged in numerous accolades for his outstanding performance and contribution to the entertainment industry. He has won two Filmfare awards in the years 1997 and 2000 along with 4 Zee Cine Awards in the years 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2008.
