Early Life and Family Background

Originally a Kashmiri by birth, Fatima Sana Shaikh was born to Vipan Sharma, a Hindu from Jammu and Raj Tabassum, a Muslim from Srinagar. However, she relocated to Mumbai quite early in her career for educational commitments. She graduated from Mithbhai College in Mumbai. 

Career

Fatima Sana Shaikh kicked off her career as a vivacious child artist in the 1997 film Chachi 420 with Kamal Hassan, which made her quite popular. Although it took time for her to gain prominence in Bollywood, she moved gracefully and steadily. In the year 2001, she acted in One 2 Ka 4,  which starred cine bigwigs such as Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. She has also acted in the drama film Tahaan. Alongside working in Hindi movies, she has also tried her hands in popular TV serials. In 2009, she appeared in Ladies Special, a television series which was aired on Sony Entertainment Television where she played the role of one of the protagonists. Later, in ZEE TV’s Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo she starred in a negative role. Since 2012, she had featured in popular movies like Akash Vani, Bittoo Boss and Dangal. Later in the year 2018, she was seen acting with Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina in the much talked about movie Thugs of Hindostan.

Awards

Of most recent times she was nominated in the category of Best Actor -Female (Popular) at the Star Screen Awards 2017 for Dangal.

Controversy

The rumours of Fatima dating her co-star Amir Khan from the sets of Dangal was the most buzzing rumours that centred around her. An agitated Kiran Rao was also heard relating to Aamir's growing closeness towards her. However, the things are settled as of now, because there is no such recent paparazzi capturing them.
