An Indian film actor turned politician, Chiranjeevi is presently serving as a Minister of State (under Ministry of Tourism- Government of India).
Age and Height
Standing at the age of 63 years old (as of 2018), Chiranjeevi marks his birth on 22 August 1955. He stands 5 feet and 7 inches tall. Mogalthur is his place of birth.
Chiranjeevi’s wife’s name is Surekha Konidela. Both of them are blessed with two beautiful daughters (Srija and Susmitha) and a son (Ram Charan Teja).
Chiranjeevi is the son of Venkat Rao Konidela and Anjana Devi Konidela. Venkat Rao was a police constable in his times. He has two brothers (Nagendra Babu and Pawan Kalyan) and two sisters (Vijaya Durga and Madhavi).
Chiranjeevi accomplished his early schooling from CRS Sharma College (Ongole). Later, he enrolled himself at Sri Y N College (Narsapur in the state of Andhra Pradesh). Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
No sooner he clinched in his graduation degree, he marched towards Madras Film Institute (1976). Although he enacted in Punadhirallu ahead of Pranam Khareedu, the latter was his first official release. Chiranjeevi clinched in his desired recognition through Mana Voori Pandavulu. The movies I Love You and Katha Kaadu featured him in anti-hero roles.
It was in the year 1982 that Chiranjeevi clinched in the lead title roles in the films Intlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya, Shubhalekha, Idi Pellantara, Sitadevi, and others.
Throughout the period from 1983 to 2007, Chiranjeevi stepped in a high position with acting skills. His most notable contributions of this period were Khaidi, Mantri Gari Viyyankudu, Hero, Donga, and Donga Mogudu.
Later in the year 2007, he contributed towards Shankar Dada Zindabad which bagged in a mixed review from his followers. For nearly a decade or so, Chiranjeevi stayed at the back of limelight. This was the time when he invested himself in emerging victorious on the political front. However, he also gave in cameo appearances in Magadheera (2009), and Bruce Lee – The Fighter (2015).
In the year 2008, Chiranjeevi came ahead with his self-owned political party named Praja Rajyam (Andhra Pradesh). Social Justice represented as the central agenda of his political party establishment. Subsequently, he enrolled his political party candidates from Tirupati and Palakollu constituencies. He went successfully in clinching the MLA position from Tirupati, however, he failed at the latter electorate.
Other than his acting and political influence, Chiranjeevi owes a Charitable trust named Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (establishment 02 October 1998). His Trust works on social issues linked to blood and eye donations.
Chiranjeevi rose to controversial issues when he along with Brahmanandam on a reality show allegedly stated about Jandhyala’s alcohol addiction. However, as soon as Jandhyala’s wife Annapurna came across this footage, she asked the reality show delegates to edit those clips.
Chiranjeevi loves to watch movies of Sean Connery and Mahanati Savitri. His favourite singer is Balasubrahmanyam. Charlie Chaplin is his all-time favourite comedian, and he likes to sing when he finds himself surrounded by negativities of life.
