Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5th February 1976 and is 42 years of age as in 2018. He is six feet and one inch tall. 

Marriage/Relationships

Abhishek Bachchan was in a relation with Karishma Kapoor, and the couple was engaged in October 2002. This engagement was called off in January 2003. Later Abhishek Bachchan was engaged to Aishwarya Rai on 14th January 2007, and the couple married on 20th April 2007. They have a girl by the name of Aaradhya Bachchan who was born in March 2012.  

Family

Abhishek Bachchan is the son of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan. Shweta Bachchan Nanda is his sister. The actor is married to Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, and the couple has a daughter named Aaradhya Bachchan. 

Career

Abhishek marked his Bollywood debut with the JP Dutta movie Refugee in the year 2000. The film could not perform well at the box office. In the next three years, Abhishek worked in some movies, but these also did not do well. It was in the year 2004 that he acted in Mani Ratnam’s Yuva and was able to bag the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor award. Later he worked in some hit movies like Dhoom, Bunty Aur Babli, and Sarkar. He also worked in movies like Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Dhoom-2 and Dus. 

Another of his movies Guru directed by Mani Ratnam also turned out to be a big hit. His latest movie was Manmarziyaan which released in September 2018. Besides acting Abhishek Bachchan is also actively involved in the advertisement industry and is a brand ambassador for a number of companies.

Controversies

The first controversy came in Abhishek life when he broke off the engagement to Karishma Kapoor. It is said that his mother was not on good terms with Karishma’s mother and the couple had to break off. 

A little-known model Janhvi Kapoor also attempted suicide before Abhishek’s home claiming that she was the mother of his child. However, the girl was deemed to be a fraud.

Abhishek Bachchan likes Rajma Chawal, spicy chicken, chocolates and banana chips a lot. His favorite actors are Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpai, and Sanjay Dutt. He also adores Zeenat Amman and Kareena Kapoor a lot. Watching movies, driving, sketching, and cooking are some of the hobbies of Abhishek Bachchan. 

Awards

Some of the popular awards Abhishek Bachchan has won include the National Film Award for Paa in the year 2010 as a producer. He has also won the Filmfare Awards in the year 2004, 2005 and 2006 as Best supporting actor for different movies. He was also accorded the Yash Bharati Samman by the UP government in the year 2006. 

Trivia

Abhishek Bachchan had Dyslexia when he was young. He began his career as an LIC agent but later joined ABCL. The company floated by his father. Abhishek loves singing and has also lent voice to some of his songs in the movies he appeared in.
