Abhay Deol was born on 15 March 1976 and is presently standing at an age of 42 years (as of 2018). Mumbai is his birthplace and this Indian actor is 6 feet 1 inch tall.
Although Abhay still falls in the category of single males, he is rumoured to be in a close association with Preeti Desai. Preeti is also a model turned actress.
Abhay is the son of Late Ajit Singh Deol and Usha Deol. Ajit Deol was a filmmaker cum actor. Sunny, Bobby, Esha, Ahana, Ajeita, and Vijeta Deol are all his cousins.
Abhay’s schooling background is unknown. He has been a college dropout. Later, he went on to The City College of New York to further pursue training in acting and theatre.
After completing his training, Abhay returned back to India. In the year 2005, Abhay Deol made his Bollywood debut with the movie Socha Na Tha. It was a romantic comedy where he was starred opposite Ayesha Takia.
Ahista Ahista, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, and Manorama Six Feet Under were some of his other releases.
Although belonging to a strong background in the film industry, it was never a straight path for Abhay to stand prominent. In the year 2009, Abhay worked on a neo-noir film known as Dev. D. In 2010, Abhay came ahead with a cameo appearance in the movie Tera Kya Hoga Johnny’s item number.
2009 was the year when Abhay stepped in with his own production house. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was his next comedy-drama movie in the year 2011. This film grossed in a total sum of around 1.53 billion rupees and surpassed the then famous Bollywood release Dhoom 2.
In 2012, Shanghai and Chakravyuh starred Abhay Deol. On the one hand, where Chakravyuh bagged in a mixed review, on the other side, Shanghai brought him positive appraisals. He was also appreciated for his performance in Happy Bhag Jayegi.
Abhay Deol rose to the controversial issues when he expressed his disappointment about the overall idea behind the movie Aisha of 2010. In April 2017, Abhay Deol again became the centre of focus when he criticized top Bollywood actors for endorsing Fairness creams.
Thai and Chinese cuisines are what Abhay loves to have on his go. He is a big fan and follower of Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Angelina Jose movies. Abhay Deol was nominated for numerous awards. Out of all those, he successfully clinched in the title for Best Actor under two awards ceremony. Firstly, under Annual Central European Bollywood Artists for the movie Manorama Six Feet Under (2007). The next one was for the same film under Indo-American Arts Council Awards.
Very few of his followers are aware of the fact that Abhay Deol actually underwent training for deep-sea diving for the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He is very scared of cockroaches.
